Below the center of the tourist area of Protaras , 300 meters from the road , is the chapel of Panagiotissa . It is a small church dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The church inside is very small. On the walls there are many icons, offerings of pilgrims. This chapel is celebrated on August 15 . On this day the festival of ' Panagiotissa ' called as the Lady of this church. It used to be a two-days festival. Residents went to the festival from the previous afternoon and stayed overnight at their properties in the region.
